Moortec tape out Ku band (11/14GHz) consumer Sat Comms ASIC

Mid-January, the Moortec team of engineers complete and tape out a Ku band (11/14GHz) microwave ISP communications ASIC on 0.25µm SiGe:C BiCMOS process to be packaged in 40-pin QFN.

The proprietary development is for Katalyst Ventures backed company Phasor Solutions Ltd based in Malvern, who recently secured funding for £1m to develop a WiFi 802.11b/g Mobile Satellite System (MSS).

Moortec are also to work on the production SoC ASIC, inclusive of the hardware system integration.
